Don’t miss out on the Library fun!! Register for Adult Summer Reading for a chance to win prizes with every book or movie review you complete! The winners will be announced at the end of the summer reading. Our summer reading programs are packed with fun and geared towards adults!

Pre-Registration – Starts June 23
You can pre-register for adult summer reading by clicking here or by contacting the Reference Desk. You will need to pick up your registration packet in-person at the Library.
Opening Day – July 1 from 11am-2pm
Opening day will be filled with fun for adults too! You can register for summer reading, participate in tiny art, and grab a goody bag (while supplies last)!

All programs are free, but registration is requested
Kindness Bombing
Monday, July 3 – Friday, July 7
Drop in between 7/3 – 7/7 to help us “kind bomb” the Library. Stop by the Reference desk and write an encouraging note to hide in our books.
Planting “Seeds of Kindness”
Monday, July 10 from 1-4pm
Drop into the Library’s Conference room any time between 1-4pm to “get your hands dirty” as you plant “seeds of kindness” (aka sunflower seeds) in a colorful pot for you to take home and brighten your day.

Essential Oils Talk & Take-away Craft
Wednesday, July 12 @ 6pm
Join us as we discuss the benefits of including essential oils in your daily life. You will be making a silver aromatherapy necklace (which you can take home) using essential oils based on Young Living’s “Oola Friends” and “Oola Family” blends.

Thursday, July 13 @ 6pm
This is an instructor led program where you will paint a beach scene on canvas. Supplies are included.

July Movie: “Pay It Forward”
Monday, July 17 – 2 showings @ 1pm & 5:30pm
Per an assignment from his Social Studies teacher, a young boy attempts to make the world a better place by creating a plan to “pay it forward” favors. He sets in motion an unprecedented wave of human kindness which blossoms into a profound national phenomenon.

Weis Markets’ Salsa Making @ Healthy Eating Tips
Thursday, July 20 @ 6:30pm
It’s Summer! Time to mix up a bowl of salsa (& chips) for a “tasty” get together with family and friends. Join Kimberly (from Weis Markets) as she shows us how to prepare Chipotle Black Bean Salsa and shares nutrition information and healthy eating tips.

Kindness Rocks!
Tuesday, July 25 from 1-3 pm (Library’s front lawn)
Join us for a fun-filled day of spreading kindness and positivity at our upcoming Kindness Rocks event! Paint and decorate rocks with uplifting messages, inspirational quotes, or simple acts of kindness. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with our community and make a positive impact on those around us. Don’t miss out on this heartwarming event. Come join us and let’s make the world a brighter place, one rock at a time!

August Movie: “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood“
Tuesday, August 1 – 2 showings (1pm & 5:30pm)
An investigative journalist’s assignment is to interview Fred Rogers (aka TV’s Mr. Rogers). He finds it hard to believe that anyone can have such a good nature. Roger’s empathy, kindness and decency changes not only his jaded outlook on life, but helps him reconcile his own painful past.

Community Puzzles / Activities
When you’re at the library in our Reference Area, stop by one of our tables and help us put together our “kindness” puzzle or add your artistic flair by coloring our mandala tablecloth. Also, pick up copies of our word search and word scramble puzzles to keep your mind sharp during the “lazy days” of summer.
